The assignment to shoot Yachty Gras is notoriously a photographers nightmare - It's dark, the subjects are moving, getting the right framing is challenging beyond boat profile shots. This year, we were able to catch the act of decorating two ships before they set sail, the "R ESCAPE" owned by Ken Gallia (713-213-5210), sailing in his first time Yachty Gras, and the lead boat "Beachcomber" owned by Ross & Elizabeth Heard (713-498-8378).

We got to ride on the lead boat which was fun although being on a moving ship made low light photo work extremely difficult. Nonetheless, it was fun!
